Another thought – The Partner Visa Changes Mooted to Happen In April Have Not Gone Away!
The changes (what are they? – look here) to the Partner Visa application process whereby partner visa sponsors must obtain separate approval following a separate application before the partner’s application can be granted haven’t gone away. They could still happen at any moment after the election. Even if the government changes at the election, we anticipate the changes will still go ahead because everyone loves the intention behind the changes – ie to reduce domestic violence.
If you’re considering lodging a Partner Visa, we advise you to do so as soon as possible. Not only will you avoid the Partner Visa changes, you will also avoid the dreaded visa application fee increases.
These changes will affect all types of partner visas including de facto visas, spouse visas, prospective marriage visas and temporary partner visas.
