The TSS Subclass 482 visa program allows an employer to sponsor expatriate individuals and their immediate families to work in approved occupations in Australia for a period of up to four years.

To successfully nominate a worker for a TSS Subclass 482 visa, an employer must provide evidence that the position meets the skills criteria, the nominated worker will be paid the market rate while in Australia, the Labour Market Testing criteria have been satisfied and the Skilling Australians Fund levy has been paid.

The worker will also need to provide evidence that they have at least two years of relevant employment experience and can satisfy the skill, English, health and character criteria. Further information on the TSS Subclass 482 visa can be found on our dedicated web page which you will find here.

In order to lodge Subclass 482 TSS nomination applications, an employer (or an associated entity) must be (most commonly) an approved Standard Busines Sponsor (SBS)  or a party to a Labour Agreement.

To become an approved SBS,  employer applicants may be established Australian companies, start-ups or overseas companies not currently operating in Australia.

Labour agreement sponsors, on the other hand, are businesses which have negotiated a contract with the Department of Home Affairs to sponsor workers whose occupation are not on the regular occupation lists, or where employee concessions are required such as language or skills concessions.

The Subclass 186 Visa is a permanent residence visa for skilled workers who have a nominating Australian employer.

 

A Subclass 186 Visa allows applicants and their immediate family (spouse and children) to become Australian permanent residents. Holders of a Subclass 186 Visabe are able to work and study in Australia without ant restrictions and are eligible for Medicare, public education, social security and government assistance with tertiary education fees.

The Subclass 186 visa has two streams, Temporary Residence Transition Stream and the 186 Direct Entry Stream.

 

Temporary Residence Transition Stream

An employer may nominate an overseas employee for this stream where the employee holds a TSS Subclass 482 visa (or Subclass 457 visa) and has worked solely for the employer for a minimum of two or three years, depending on when their initial work visa was granted.

 

Direct Entry Stream

This stream is for applicants who work in an occupation on the Medium and Long-Term Skilled Occupation List (MTSOL), an approved skills assessment in their occupation and have at least three years of relevant employment experience.

 

Additional requirements for both Streams

The Skilling Australia Fund is Payable by a nominating employer for this visa nomination.

• Employers with an annual turnover of more than AUD$10 million – $5000.00

The Temporary Activity Subclass 408 Visa allows businesses to sponsor people to come to Australia to undertake specific types of work, including:

• Complete sporting activities (including training): Allows individuals to play, coach, adjudicate or instruct for an Australian team
